The service pack adds support for the software's clustered servers and its ability to scan documents in Microsoft Office 2007 file formats for threats, Microsoft said.

Antigen 9.0 is Microsoft's email security software. It includes Antigen for Exchange, Antigen for SMTP gateways and Antigen Spam Manager as well as Antigen Enterprise Manager and the Messaging Security Suite.

The company released the Antigen products in June 2006 after it acquired threat scanning engines from Sybari Software Inc. and GeCad Software.

The Antigen line of products is part of Microsoft's Forefront Security product line.
