The smallest in the line of Compaq Evo enterprise notebooks, the petite Evo 410c has everything a business user needs, and then some. Features include a CD/DVD drive, crisp and colorful graphics, and a variety of connection and networking capabilities to choose from.
You'll get plenty of power for enterprise applications through a 1.2-GHz Intel Pentium III processor, 256M bytes of memory, and a 30G-byte hard drive provide plenty of power for enterprise applications and usage.
The Evo 410c allows for connections and networking with a 56K-bit/sec modem or a 10/100M-bit/sec Ethernet connection. Users can also connect via wireless standards such as 802.11b, Bluetooth or other service, through the wireless module on top of the unit. A USB port, two data ports and an infrared port provide flexibility for the user.
We were impressed with the vivid picture and smooth performance of the DVD player. The volume buttons located on the front panel of the notebook adjust the sound to precisely the level you need, making it easy to watch movies in public (even the office!) without headphones.
If you're looking for long battery life, the Evo N410c allows you to connect an optional, additional battery into the outside of the unit. For still more time under battery power, you can attach a third and fourth battery to the expansion unit. HP claims that using all four batteries can extend usage time to over nine hours. We found a single battery to last about 2.5 hours. We also liked the battery monitor that shows the exact amount of time left on the life of the battery.
The bottom line is that multiple ports, batteries and connection methods give this computer a wide range of flexibility. This would be a great model for a business user looking for something portable yet powerful, that won't become outdated anytime soon.
