Microsoft will release five security updates on Tuesday, according to the company's monthly security bulletin.

There will be four updates for Windows, at least one of which will be critical, and there will be one critical security update for Microsoft Content Management Server, the bulletin said. These five security updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.

This follows no updates in March while IT managers focused on daylight-saving time patches, which were necessary because the U.S. Congress changed the switchover date for DST to March 11 in an effort to save energy.

On Tuesday, there will also reportedly be six high-priority, nonsecurity updates released, two of which will be for Windows. Two of them will be released on Windows Update, or WU, and Software Update Services, or SUS. Four of them will be released on Microsoft Update, or MU, and Windows Server Update Services or WSUS.

An updated version of Microsoft's Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool will also be released on MU, WU, WSUS and SUS.

As is its usual procedure, Microsoft does not make public any detailed information available about the updates until Tuesday, its monthly patch release day. Microsoft will hold a webcast on Wednesday at 2 p.m. EST so that IT administrators can ask questions about the updates.
