Critical patches coming for Windows, Office and Exchange |

Microsoft will release 14 updates on Tuesday, including seven security updates, with critical ones for Windows, Office and Exchange. The other seven updates are non-security updates, the company said.
Of the security updates, there will be two patches for Windows, three for Microsoft Office and one for Microsoft Exchange Server, as well as one for CAPICOM and Biztalk. At least one of the Windows and Microsoft Office updates will be critical, as will the ones for Microsoft Exchange Server and CAPICOM and Biztalk.
CAPICOM is a Microsoft software development code, and Biztalk is a business process management product that lets companies automate processes.
Microsoft said the security update count for May is about average for this year as there were six patches in April, seven in February and four in January. There were none in March because of additional patching necessary for daylight savings time.
The Windows and Office patches will require companies to restart their machines, the company said. There will be one non-security, high-priority update for Windows on Windows Update and Software Update Services. Microsoft also released six non-security, high-priority updates on Microsoft Update and Windows Update Services.
Microsoft will also release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool on Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services and the Download Center.
