Microsoft capacity planner 2007 is ready to go

Drowned out by the noise of the Windows Server 2008 and Vista service pack RTMs is word that an updated version of Microsoft's capacity planning tool is also almost ready for general consumption.

System Center Capacity Planner 2007 (SCCP) – a tool to help IT administrators prevent system bottlenecks and speed up user response times -- adds an application model for Exchange Server 2007, plus new models for Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

Microsoft said there will be a model coming out for System Center Operations Manager 2007, but the company gave no time frame. The SCCP tool also supports 64-bit processors.

System Center Capacity Planner 2007 is available to anyone and does not require a TechNet subscription, the company said.
