Windows XP is reportedly incompatible with Easy CD Creator 4 and DirectCD. But I have found that while DirectCD doesn't work in read/write mode, there is a software download available on the Roxio Web site that enables reading of DirectCD written CDs on Windows XP.
As far as incompatibility with Easy CD Creator 4, there is no problem if DirectCD is not installed. In fact, you can continue to use Easy CD Creator to burn single or multi-session CDs without any problems if it is not installed.
