Tip

Get rid of unwanted logon logo

At the logon screen to Windows NT/Windows 2000, you see the Microsoft NT logo. The default screen logos are kept in the WINNT.BMP file for workstation and the LANMANNT.BMP for server. You can change this logo and replace it with your own .bmp file.

Edit the following in the Registry:

Hive: HKEY_USERS
Key: .DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop
Name: Wallpaper
Type: REG_SZ
Value/String: Path to the BMP file (eg. C:mylogo.bmp)

To tile the wallpaper:

Hive: HKEY_USERS
Key: .DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop
Name: TileWallpaper
Type: REG_SZ
Value/String: 1 (Tile)
Value: 0 (NoTile)
