More SQL Server memory problems solved

Previous tips in the SQL category have had to do with slow SQL server performance on 4GB (>2GB) of the main RAM server. Some of the workarounds suggested may work, but a better approach is solving it on the OS level. See MSDN article Using AWE Memory on Windows 2000 for more information.

In short, defining a /3GB switch at bootup allows Windows 2000 to set aside more than 2GB for applications. Hope this helps!
