Other "cmd line recall" keys

The tip "cmd line recall" submitted by Bob Muzzy on 02/20/02 is very useful. There are several other Function key shortcuts available in cmd.exe.

F2 - Enter Character to copy up to
F3 - Recall last command
F4 - Enter char to delete up to
F5 - Cycle backwards through command list
F7 - Bring up the list of previously entered commands
F8 - Cycle forward through command list
F9 - Let's you enter a command line number (these are listing with F7)
