Seeing "ghosts" in W2K revisited

This tip was submitted to the searchWin2000 Tip Exchange by member William Burke as a follow up to Serdar Yegulalp's tip Seeing "ghosts" in Windows 2000. Let other users know how useful it is by rating the tip below.

An easier way to see "ghost" devices in Windows 2000 is to open Device Manager (or right click on Device Manager); select view and click on Show Hidden Devices.

From here, the device can be removed even if it was hidden originally, assuming of course, the device is not being used by the system.

An example of this is to delete an old network card configuration.
