Step 5: Digging into server and admin requirements
Whether or not you choose to earn Security+, your next step must be to tackle Windows server-related exams, along with the requirements related to managing networks and other elements of the IT infrastructure. For MCSAs, it means either
70-290 and
70-291 on Windows Server 2003, or
70-215 and
70-218 on Windows 2000 Server. Conventional wisdom says it is slightly more helpful to take these exams in consecutive order than it is to reverse that order. For MCSEs, the sequences are slightly longer and more demanding:
70-290,
70-291,
70-293 and
70-294 for Windows Server 2003; and
70-215,
70-216 and
70-217 for Windows 2000. Here, again, plan to tackle them in numerical order.
